lindanievespowell:
Real talk: I was a Destiny’s Child fan. I was not a Beyonce fan. I just didn’t understand what her obsession was with her world domination and everyone else’s love affair with her. Until now.
The HBO documentary, Beyonce: Life is but a Dream, is a smart and perfectly timed decision on her…
A new condition
Oh, when is it going to end? This morning I woke up with my eyes wanting to jump out of my sockets, nausea, and vomiting. I thought it was the stomach flu but my doctor (amazing how they do get back in touch when you call them!) said I had vertigo. Vertigo?
Vertigo!
What the hell?
So, it can be an inner ear infection or something got dislodged in there.
Valium and some interesting exercises...

NaNoWriMo
This is not a health post. Oh, no I lie, it is. It is because writing is good for your health. I am not going to list here all the benefits there are to this, nor will I list the scholarly articles on the subject. BUT, I will say this: when I get my ass on a chair to write, I know I feel better about myself, my body, my pain, HECK, even the state of world for that matter.
I was not going to do...

Confused
I still do not get some things about tumblr. In some we can reply but in others we can’t. It seems like no one can reply in my posts. Why does this happen? Is there a button I need to press?

Fibromyalgia Symptoms
Long overdue. I finally was referred to a rheumatologist who finally made the diagnosis (my new internist also suggested it). “You are a classic case,” she said.
These are the list of symptoms offered on webMD followed by my commentary:
Symptoms of fibromyalgia include:
Chronic muscle pain, muscle spasms or tightness—AAAAAAAAYYYY YESSSSS!!!! Everything hurts!!!!
Moderate or...

Brain pressure
Sooooo…..Dr. Micco referred back to my pseudotumor. MUST LOSE WEIGHT. Not for lack of trying. Anyway, I am rambling. I need to write this out. I have had this for a long time but had no idea it would have an effect in my present condition. I also did not think it would come back to bug me.
So, I have a pseudotumor…..

And another doctor
dr. mic was rather great. he explained everything with clarity and without condescension. so, the key is observation of the conditions I already have … my head is full. of stuff. big tonsils. a pseudotumor. pressure. so now we have to find ways to relieve the pressure.

Dr. OoooooOOOOooohhhhh!
Dr. Oh is fantastic. He is my new chiropractor (I feel kinda sad going to a different chiro after so many years with Dr. Z…but, this was an instinctual gamble and I am going to see where this takes me). He was recommended by my lovely Ninja Trainer who swears he was cured by this doctor. He called him up for an appointment and everything. And after everything that I am paying up for doctors,...
Creative Responses to "how are you"?
So how do you respond when someone asks, “how are you?” I would like to come up with new things to say in response to the question. Not just ok. That is boring. I need to get creative. And it cannot be how I really feel.
Boy. I am starting to understand my mother the older I get.
Anyone have suggestions?

Trike Mileage
The trike is out. I had left it at 73 miles last time so now it is 80 miles. Seven miles. Not too shabby. But slow start, especially since I have a 30 mile trek ahead of me in less than 19 days.
Health: Slow Jogging Just a Few Times a Week Can... →
You know that relatively little exercise is needed to get you fit, and now a new study suggests just an hour to two-and-a-half hours per week of even slow or moderate jogging (which amounts to 15 minutes a day) could help you live five or more years longer.
Dear body
Dear noise in my ear, you can stop whooshing now, I heard you loud and clear. It is very distracting.
Dear hip, please stay in place. I would like to walk without pain.
Dear lower back, well, hullo there. What can I do to make you feel less tense?
Dear left foot, thanks for telling the arch to not complain. That was weird.
Dear face, I know I should not have hugged the puppy that tight, but...

Injured cyclists →
This is an interesting article about cycling and the law in New York City when there is a hit and run. Investigations are rare. I wonder how it is in Chicago.

These are my two biggies so far. I thought the article was useful, although it seems obvious that if you can’t breathe, you probably will be depressed about it.

CPAP update
Yesterday, I got a call from the Sleep Study Team to tell me about the results of my overnight test. As expected, my machine needed readjustment. From 9 to 12 cm H2O. That is quite a change so I am looking forward to a different feeling tomorrow. I am expecting this will improve my health very positively. When I first used the CPAP I was at 244. I lost 35 pounds. Then I slowly started gaining...
